Week 4.

Sister Matthews has more thanksgiving leftovers than she knows what to do with. She's doing great! Hello everyone!!!  This week has been great!  On Wednesday  we had new missionary training #2 where we sit in a room for 4 hours and listen to President Rasmussen and Sister Rasmussen give us advice on how to be progressing missionaries so that was pretty cool. President Rasmussen is the best. That night we had a pre Thanksgiving dinner with a less active family which was basically just pizza but it was still amazing. Thanksgiving was great! In the morning the missionaries in south half of our mission all got together for 3 hours and we all played sports which was fun. President Rasmussen showed up in a suite and tennis shoes and he played volley ball with us. That was fun. Then we had our dinner appointment with the Murdocks. They're a great family. I ate so much it was great. They made this snickers salad which was amazing. They also had a chocolate toffee pie which ...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! This week has been great! We've been working with a lot of less actives this week and we have been able to see their faith grow little by little. We even saw one family at church yesterday! It was amazing! They loved it. They even invited us over fr Thanksgiving even though we already have plans. We told them we would "stop by" haha! Then we taught a lesson to an investigator about the Book of Mormon. She has been struggling with reading it because she thinks she only needs the Bible. By the end of the lesson she said she was about to tell us that she doesn't want to meet anymore but she said there was a small itch in her brain telling her to keep reading the Book of Mormon! I'm so thankful the Holy Ghost was able to tell her to keep reading otherwise she would've dropped us!  On Tuesday  we had District meeting and we set a goal as a district to get 6 new investigators this week. During the week we hadn't received a single new investig...

Week 2 in WA

Sister Matthews had a harder week and has been some of the side effects of her concussion. She remains optimistic though, and says that being in a threesome is like a party everyday! Here's what else she has to say: Hello everyone! There hasn't been much progress this week. Every time we plan to see someone they're not home! Not a single person has opened their door to us this week! Even when we have appointments with them. We've been meeting with a lot of members this week instead and they've been giving us a lot of referrals so hopefully there will be more progress there. We've been meeting with a couple less actives this week which has been amazing. I think one of them got me sick! She has been trying to get over strep throat and when we were meeting with her I just started coughing out of nowhere! So this week my voice has been gone which has been a challenge. I don't think It'll progress into strep though. I'm already recovering. I can d...

First week in WA!

Hey y'all! Here's Sister Matthews latest email. Find out all about her first week in Washington! Hello everyone! I made it safe to Washington on Halloween! Once we flew in to Seattle, the mission president and his wife picked us up and took us to their house and fed us lunch at   2:00 . Then we had interviews with the mission president and some training. Once everyone was done we went to the stake center to get our trainers. I'm in a trio! My trainer is Sister Derieg and my other companion is Sister Unitt. I love being in a trio! They teach me so much. My area is in a city called Auburn and I'm serving in the Lake Holm ward. Our area is very spread out. We live in the forest it's really cool. The trees make it get really dark though because they are so big. Washington is beautiful. They trees are really tall and the leaves are very big. I'm pretty sure I've seen a leaf bigger than my face. It's also very wet. They day I flew in it was nice ...
